A Clustering Approach to Identify the Organizational Life Cycle

This is an analytical, descriptive, and cross-sectional case study to identify a pharmaceutical company’s organizational life cycle (OLC) situation using clustering methods. Data came from Iran’s firms in 2001–2018. We used sales growth, dividend per ratio, performance indicators, including the return on assets, equity, Qtubin, net profit of 342 firm-years OLC companies. principal component analysis cluster define situation. Results show that 41.39% was growth stage, 34.14% maturity 17.22% decline stage. There no significant difference between average age three companies’ clusters. Study findings may guide policymakers towards more evidence-informed planning, generic producers by providing insights about their perspective, giving them proper strategies overcome accompanying challenges Iran countries with similar situations.
